Brad Pollock has been an attorney at Walsh, Knippen, Knight & Pollock, Chartered since 2000. Prior to joining the firm, Brad practiced as a trial lawyer in Chicago, both as an insurance defense attorney and as an attorney representing the rights of injured people. This unique perspective assists Brad in his aggressive representation of his injured clients' best interests. Brad concentrates his practice in the area of catastrophic personal injury, including automobile/truck, professional negligence/malpractice and products liability. Brad has been named by Illinois Super Lawyers as a 2008 Super Lawyer, limited to the top five percent of lawyers in the State of Illinois.
"Success in litigation is a product of unyielding advocacy, commitment and tireless preparation, built upon the foundation of a strong client relationship." - Brad Pollock
Since joining the firm, Brad has successfully secured numerous settlements and jury verdicts on behalf of his clients in the millions of dollars. One of his accomplishments involved a 2 1/2 week medical negligence trial with firm attorney Ed Walsh that resulted in a verdict in favor of the Plaintiff in the amount of $7,287,083.00. The case involved a Defendant physician's failure to properly treat a non-cancerous facial tumor resulting in partial facial paralysis and disfigurement. The unanimous jury verdict far exceeded the Defendant's $500,000.00 settlement offer. Brad was also recently involved in securing a settlement in the amount of $5,250,000.00 in a complex products liability case involving a boy that was the victim of an explosion in an engine testing facility.
In addition to his busy practice, Brad serves as a guest lecturer at Midwestern University speaking to students in the medical field on the Plaintiff's perspective on tort litigation. He has also presented a seminar to fellow trial attorneys for the DuPage County Bar Association (DCBA) entitled "Handling the Catastrophic Injury Case From Interview to Verdict." Brad served as the Chairman of the DCBA Civil Practice Committee in 2007-2008. In that role, Brad conducted a 4 week trial advocacy program offered to attorneys that wanted to sharpen their trial skills. The course was held at the DuPage County Court House and involved mock trials presided over by well respected Dupage Judges. The graduation ceremony held at our office included congratulatory remarks by Illinois Supreme Court Justice Robert Thomas.
Brad is currently the vice chairman of the DCBA Committee responsible for Continuing Legal Education and will serve as the Chairman in 2009. He has also been appointed to and serves on the DCBA Judicial Committee, a panel that evaluates Judicial candidates seeking appointment or election to the Bench. Brad is an invited member and officer of the Inns of Court (DuPage County), a group limited to 88 attorneys and Judges from the area, which meet to discuss and analyze an array of current legal issues. He also donates his time as an invited Judge for the annual John Marshall Law School International Moot Court Competition in Information Technology and Privacy Law, involving law schools from all over the world.
Brad's other interests include spending time with his family, outdoor activities, and physical fitness. Brad competes in and has run numerous road races, including three marathons.
